I haven't been playing very much lately but thinking to get back in the game. I have about $50 on carbon and wonder if this is a realistic goal:
2months: 2/5 & 5/10 to $100
6 months: 5/10 10/25 to $500
1yr: 10/25 to $2000
in between will play SNG and tourneys, probably 3hrs/day on avg.
feedbacks welcome!
(also is there a site out there that will track your progress?)

I seriously hope the 2/5 5/10 etc etc you are referring to aren't talking about limits. You'll never win anything like that. One bad session or unlucky hand and you'll lose everything.

Some people are able to thrive on using a short bankroll, others needed one that is more forgiving. It is possible that you can work out like you want, but you must be prepared for it to take longer as well.

first of all, thanks for all comments!
secondly, I was using standard abbrevations, so 2/5 means 0.02/0.05 limit (or $5 buyin).

I think your bankroll is way to small to start at the limits that you stated, BRM is the key anytime you play cash games.

Oh good, I thought 2/5 and 5/10 meant $2/$5 and $5/$10. Your goals could be more realistic if you play mtts. A win in a good one will boost your bankroll considerably.

Play what you are most comfortable with. There are people who kill in the cash games, but put them in a tournament, and they flounder quickly. It all depends on your style. One of the most common ways is SNGs, but it really is personal preference.
