Not a fan of the rebuy tournaments. Too many people willing to flip with any 2. I'll only play these if I wanna donk around.

Rebuys are for suckers. Remember he who rebuys gave his chips to someone else. That someone else now has a larger stack then the person who rebuys (usualy). The biggest mistake people make in re-buy tourny's is thinking "oh well if I loose them I can get more".

I'm still not sure about which strategy works best, but as far as BRM goes, I always plan on 3 rebuys and 1 add on. Therefore if it's a $1 rebuy tournament, I wouldn't actually play in it unless I have the BR for a $5 freezeout.

So when you play a rebuy you need to count on playing at least double maybe triple what you buy in for.

I am a big fan of re-buys. I feel like I can find better spots than most to gamble early. I have no problem getting involved multi-way with speculative hands for stacks. I feel that once I get a big stack, I can leverage it better than most. Having a big stack allows you to be more selective, and also to put massive pressure on medium stacks, as they will have to go all-in or fold. I remember this one absurd rebuy here on merge that I made a killing off of. In the tournament, the top 5 or so got paid. It was a $3 hyper turbo, and on the break you received a 30k add-on. So the tournament got down to like 10 people, and the BB was more than the initial re-buy. However, because of the fact that 5th place paid over $50, people kept re-buying in an attempt to make it to the break and get the add-on. As a result, I was able to continually get in great spots. I ended up getting runner up I believe. I think that the tourney still is on merge. It's a crazy tournament, and with enough players is highly profitable. Speaking of which, this is the month I get my Sharkscope out of the red. I really haven't played enough games, and I have bounced around in stakes to really have a good indicator as to where my game is at. I feel that I am ready to start tearing the games up, but we will see this month where my game really is at. I plan on playing over 500 mtt's, which is about as many games as I have played since joining Carbon well over a year ago. Bottom line is I need more volume and I need to keep the BI's relatively level.
