Since we can't read players through there body language when playing online poker, what other methods can one use when trying to read online players?

betting patterns, time taken when strong/weak, if slow plays strong hands, if huge overbet when bluffing...... the list goes on

do you guys take a lot of notes? I know i have taken some in Pokerstars on the ppl in the PO tourneys, but the notes are no longer there..

You can pretty much only read an online player from their betting patterns and how they bet when certain cards come out.

Watch their betting patterns, whether or not they are betting oddly compared to what they've been betting. Are they calling/raising immediately or if they're letting some time pass, how are they betting relative to their position on the table. The biggest thing for me would be comparing their average play to the current hand.

if playing in freerolls, you may not be able to learn a ton, but just betting patterns, sizing, time etc
