Hi everyone,
i am new to this forum. I used to play a lot of poker 4 years ago and i took a long break from the game. I think all the multitabling was starting to be too much for me. 2 days ago i decided to start a comeback.
The first thing i noticed is the games are better. The fish seem to have developed teeth over the years. Don't get me wrong there is still a lot of bad play and mistakes but the average skill definitely went up.
I also noticed making a deposit is definitely more difficult than it used to be. That one is pretty weird for me. Neteller used to be the way i did it. Now the sites accepting US residents don't even take the mastercard... I decided to order a netspend card and go from there. I still have about a week before i receive this one.
I decided then to hunt for freerolls but the landscape changed there as well. They are far less common than they used to be and the price pool have dropped significantly. I noticed a lot of pokerowned freerolls and that is what brought me here in the first place. I must admit i was pleasantly surprised with the website, promotions and else. Getting points at first is not really easy but still doable.
So i started playing freerolls in Betonline but i am not sure about this as some mention troubles to cashout. Some post seem to mention they got better in that regard... I am still not sure and dont want to fight to get MY money...
I noticed Bovada seem to have a large choice of MTT. I dont mind the anonymous part as it is the same for everyone and i love MTT. I would be more concerned playing cash game though. The netspend card was to make a deposit on this site. They seem to have a large MTT choice.
Carbon poker is the last one. I entered a freeroll yesterday and was fortunate enough to go to the end. This brings me 12$ and got me wondering if i shouldn't play more there. I noticed they have some nice MTT coming in February and they seem to have overlay from time to time. From the 2 days playing i have made 4 FT and 1 win in the MTT i have played. I definitely have flaws in my game and i feel so rusty playing. I have to get back to working on my game.
So my questions are the following.
Are Bovada and Carbon the best options for a MTT grinder? (please dont say pokerstars or Fulltilt you will bring tears in my eyes)
How are the double or nothing SNG on Carbon?
Is Carbon safe cashout wise?
Thanks in advance for your help folks,
See you at the tables

3 poker networks in the USA are reliable and payout. If you plan on doing poker seriously you should join them all.
Winning (black chip , amercias cardroom, true)
Merge( Carbon , Aced, Sportsbook, PokerHost etc...)
Bodog (Bovada)
Merge has best MTT sked, the deepstacked games have 3+ hour late reg,
Bodog has most action, and most logins
Winning has over average action
Merge check cashouts are roughly 2 weeks (this changes, so always stay abreast, a few months ago cashouts were 2 mos)
Merge ALWAYS PAYS
Bovada check cashouts are roughly 10 days (sometimes check bounces, but they ALWAYS re issue checks that may bounce)
Bovada ALWAYS PAYS
Winning has player to player transfer (which is best cashout option in USA imo) they also do checks AND have a prepaid debit card you can withdraw your balance to IN 2-3 DAYS... YES DAYS!!!!

Both Carbon and Bovada are good, Bovada is much faster with the cashouts, and has excellent customer service. Good luck with your return.
On a side not, looks like you are giong for mtts, Carbons seem to have late reg for hours and re-entries.

for freerolls id look into the private sections on merge, bovada doesnt have freerolls, bcp has $10 ones, full flush poker has ok freerolls. best of luck. i prefer carbon the best
<StephyMarieC> erik!!!!! yay you've always been one of my favorites hehe <scorcher863> i kinda want to smoke some meth, then play poker for like 3 days straight

Both Carbon and Bovada are as safe as you can get being a US player. Carbon may have a decent MTT lineup, but frankly the ridiculously long late regs with re-entrys on every single tournament just kills it for me. They have a good selection of SNGs which is what I've been primarily playing.
I like Bovada's tournaments better, but I just can't catch a break there. Something stupid always happens before I make it to the money.I'm gonna give that bitch a freeroll, bitches love freerolls.

Pokerstars and Full Tilt are the best ones....
In the beginning God said : "The four dimensional divergence of an antisymmetric second rank tensor equals zero", and at once there was light.

A little update after a week. I have not played has much as the first 2 days but still probably have 30 mtt or so. I managed to build up to about 60$ across all sites.
I can definitely say now the games are much better than they used to be. The average guy is knows definitely a bit more about poker.
One thing that i had completely forgotten coming back was all the bad beats you can take. I uses to not pay attention to that anymore but being away from the table i notice this "resistance" has definitely disappeared. Getting "donked away" of a tournament is part of the process and a necessary evil. This is part of where we make money surprisingly enough.

Winning (black chip , amercias cardroom, true)
Bodog (Bovada)
how does the winning network vs. bovada networks compare on traffic numbers? i.e., what % of real money players are on
winning as a % of bovada about?
