I usually play razz pretty tight, occasionally I will start with a face card in the whole but not to often.

[QUOTE=eqgh5uea;123134]I don't know how I lost this pot...

I thought the object of the game is to get the lowest possible count? 21 to 25+9...

A2345 is the nuts, but to win Your hand just needs to be lower than your opponents.
You could have a King High Straight Flush, as long as your opponent has a Royal Flush, You still win with low hand. Not that that will happen but it could.

Alot depends on how many people, what their cards are and/or were. Be aware of any low cards on and off the felt, you must know this so you are not caught Drawing Dead. Which means you are drawing for cards that are not there, that have already been played, or are still in play.

Every single street can make you a brand new hand. You must pay attention. If your not sure if your drawing dead or not and your opponents are betting like crazy, fold. Very Very Very Easy to Bluff playing Razz. One card can change everything and then the very next card can change everything again and so on.....gl

Take you five lowest cards (for pairs or sets use only one of those cards) out of the 7 you are dealt. Line them up by value highest to lowest. The lower value wins (or face card if that's one of your five).

    Example: K, 9, A, 3, 2, 4, K gives you 9, 4, 3, 2, 1(A)

    versus: 8, 8, 6, 5, 7, 10, 4 gives you 8, 7, 6, 5, 4

87654 is lower than 94321 and thus wins

Note you must have 5 cards that qualify. You can't make a hand if you have quads, a full house or three pair. Straights or flushes don't matter.

LvegasL1 - Your message is correct but the example is not. The ace in a royal flush would play as a low. That would beat the 9 in the king high straight flush. k,q,j,10,9 is higher than k,q,j,10,1(A).
