I have read several poker books over the years, you can find some really good strategy in them.

unfortunately playing great poker means nada in the short run and if every game is the short run, the long run will look no brighter. Online can be rough for most even if you play great poker

It means something in the short run if you're not running bad, and it definetly means something in the long run because with more sample there is less variance.

i haven't read any books I tried in the beginning but found them boring

Phil Gordon's Little Blue Book was a good read. It helped me and translated to online play better than most books.

I know that there are a couple of books that focus on the online play. I've heard some good things about them.

I would recommend you stay away from books like Super System and Phil Hellmuth's book (forgot the title). These strategies are out dated and directed at live play.
