Triple Range Merging?

Played in a tourney the other day when the following hand came up:
Late raiser and i call with 99.
flop comes KK7 and i check raise the min. he 3 bets the min and i smooth call.
2 hits turn completing flush and it goes check check.
river is jack completing 4 card flush. and i check call him with a 9 hi flush.
he showed a king for trips w/out a club and i win the pot.

-After the hand i asked him was that river bet a value bet with trips or were u turning your hand into a bluff?
His response "i was triple range merging."
WTF IS TRIPLE RANGE MERGING?

The basis i kinda got from it seems similar to polarizing(really strong/really weak) your range, and the object is to get that thought into your opponents head; all the meanwhile you actually hold a medium strength hand and get value by either getting a better hand to fold(bluff) or a worse hand to call (value bet).

-In reference to the hand i discussed above, I tend to believe that my opponent just thought he was fancy using a poker term that he didnt truly understand. Moreover, if he was triple range merging that means that he is trying to get me to fold a weak flush OR he was attempting to get value from a worse hand. This is the problem, what value is he getting out of K10 on KK72J with 4 clubs? Am i really calling him with something like two red 8's-10's, A7, K8, K9? COME ON, GET REAL!
