I tip 10%, but I play low buy-in tourneys, so my cashes are less than $400. I think if I was playing higher buy-in tourneys I would drop the amount I tip. Like I once hit a video poker machine for 5k, and I think I tipped 200, so the more I win, the smaller % I tip. The dealers don't make that much in tips on tournaments, so I feel the need to tip well because I get along with most dealers.

You guys are nuts. I used to play live all the time.... 1/2-2/5, and rarely tipped. I might come across as an ass-hole, but I am not playing 10-12 sessions a month, scooping 100+ pots, and tipping a $1-2 per pot. Are you nuts? The most I ever tipped was a green $25 chip on my way out of a big 2-5 game that I did pretty well in. We/I had $100 black chips on the table, and a guy said I shoulda tipped a black chip to the dealer considering how well I had done. You people are nuts... Do with your $$$ as you see fit, but if you play to make any sort of $$$, gl with that if your tipping even semi-frequently.

I tip but not large when I win a pot. But I make up for it when I leave the table. During play I get some looks but the dealers and regulars who know me know I make it up.
