I agree with darstar, ive seen too many people get AA or KK cracked by trying to slow play it and the blinds hit 2 pair or something like that. Put in a raise or smooth call a decent raise.

This is an older post but I will answer anyway .. I am learning .. LEARNING .. lol .. position is everything. I am figuring out when to raise and when not to raise. I used to slow play a good percentage of my monster hands .. and that is okay when you are sitting around a poker table playing anything but Holdem ... my family used to laugh because I had no "Tells" in 5 card draw. After being crucified more times than not with a huge PP in Holdem .. I have learned ==slow playing will get you into trouble. I will also lay down beautiful hands because of position, the people who I am playing with shoving ALL IN pre flop or after the flop when I see where the hand is really going. Getting away from a hand is just as important as playing one out well. I wish I would have listened to my gut the other night when I had KK and didn't raise HUGE before the flop .. allowed another player to catch trips and finally quads and I called it down .. even though in my heart I knew that I had lost control of the hand and should have gone away.
Again .. position is everything and knowing your fellow players .. are they likely to shove with garbage? Are they being incredibly lucky? Can't be all out if you are not all in ..

Limping with AA is sick, tried it before and 90% of time its doomsday after that..Always raise with AA agreesively late in a tourney, semi agressive in middle stages and early stages ..if not you will regret it..gl

it really depends on the situation but about the only time to limp aces is utg or utg+1. If you try to trap someone with aces and let 5 players see a pot then someone will hit 2 pair or a nice draw. You cant get away from them either so its best to cut it down to 1 or 2 players on the flop.
