If I can't play from the start I don't like to enter.

I do well when the stacks are big and I can make monster hands for double-ups.

Wait too late on Carbon and you're doing shove-or-fold right from the start...

I prefer to get in early and sit tight during the shove-fest that is typical in the early stages of the freerolls. I don't like coming into a tournament as the short stack.

I've done this a few times trying to take advantage of the situation. Overall, I don't think it's a good strategy. If you register at the last minute, you are lucky to have a 10bb stack, so you have to shove or fold any hand. Also, since others have been building their stack for hours, you don't have any fold equity. This just applies to Carbon's stupid micro re-entries, so I don't know how well this might work on other sites with different formats.

i think that the pro's and con's even out if your early you get to see that hour or two worth of hands and chance to get momentum or get knocked out where as if you wait till end yeah half the people are gone but blinds are usually 100 or 200 by then w/ antes so your 1000 or 1500 starter stack doesn't last long if you dont catch, witch is what it all comes down to in freerolls anway making moves at oppurtune and rational times and hoping it holds up against donk calls

if i come in late i shove or fold. Either get knocked out real quick or win enough chips to have a chance at it.
