If you think that youre premium hands run out later in a tournament it just means you are not going to be on a premium hand streak the whole tournament. It doesnt matter if you have a streak of premium hands, it's just random after that. To win a turbo tournament you need to double through a premium hand every 20-30 hands. (probably more). Normal speed tournament you need to double every 60-80 hands , proably more to stay alive. You can just wait for AK, queens, kings and aces to double through if youre at a hyper agressive/fish table where youre shove is almost always gonna be called. I dont like turbos because its hard to bluff or make good plays. Its basically about who can run the best.

Your chance of getting a premium hand in later hands does not change based on how many premium hands you have already had. This is because each hand is an independent event. I wonder what the chances of getting AA every single hand of a tournament is? Probably similar to winning the lottery every day for a week.

This. End of thread haha. And in regards to your question Sharking: There are 6 (4 choose 2) ways of making any PP, and there are 1326 (52 choose 2) possible starting hands; therefore, the odds of being dealt AA on one hand is 6/1326 or ~ .45%. Thus, if we let n = # of hands dealt in the tournament, the desired probability is (.0045)^n. Multiply by 100 if you want the percentage.

I don't mind getting good cards at any point in a tournament. Good cards are good cards. How I play with those good cards will depend on what has been happening or what I expect to start happening in a tournament. Being able to play with a big stack, medium stack, and a small stack should be everyone's goal. That way you don't have to worry about stack size play at any point in a tourney. If you are solid in all, you'll be solid throughout.

Premium hands are great as long as you don't marry them or play too slow and get your head bashed in. Some people seem to believe AA thru JJ are just UNBEATABLE. Poker just doesn't work that way 7 2 off will beat a premium hand 12.5% of the time. So if you go all-in against it 8 times then the odds are against you. Simple Math...
