I thought I had started a thread on here for my cash game journey. It seems I have neglected to update this for quite some time lol.

Anyways I had a lot of things come up in life and had to put poker on the back burner for a long time. Recently I have had the urge to start playing online again and with the purchase of a new computer, a lot of free time with my job, and a renewed ambition to play I have decided to try this again.

My BR has slipped since the last time I posted here. I am currently at $15.30. I plan to grind 4NL on Carbon, starting with 2 tables and slowly making my way to more.

I have just recently redownloaded PT3 and am in the process of setting up my HUD to how I want it so it may be a little swingy for my first few sessions while I am tweaking it.

I will try to update this thread after every session, post some thoughts, post some cash game hands for analysis, and anything else I think would be interesting.

Very good post and good advice except about the .11c bumblebees.I like to play them once in awhile but never with the idea of BR building. They are just too fishy. If you want to try to build a bankroll with limited funds,i think the best play is to buy-in to a $1.20 9 person sit n go and play so tight you squeek,A lot of players on there just seem to get bored easily and will get tired of folding so you can usually expect a call with your premium hand.Just my thoughts, take them for what you payed for them, lol.

Play these until about 10 dollars in BR. At this point you can make a decision to go to .60 Fast Fifty SnG's, go play the $2.20 bounty SnG''s, or build up to $20 before going on to $2 bounty SnG's. The .60 fast fifty is actually a .50 plus .10 fee so, that is why I don't like em. I skip $1 double ups on carbon cuz they just are not worth it on the site currently. Like I said feel free to PM or anyone else for that matter. If you have no luck on FunStep fell free to ask me for a 'stake' via PM. GL all. -Cookies

I agree with buds, those 1.20s are key if you can stay patient and crank out a good number of them in a session. Good luck out there.

    A little update:

Played 3 sessions over the past couple days for a total of 855 hands. Added one more table due to becoming somewhat bored with only two (still veeeerrryyy slow.) Made a profit of $8.80 bringing my bankroll up to $23.59.

Probably going to fire up a few tables soon and try to get a decent (lolvolume 3 tabling) session in tonight. Im going to try to go through my database and post a hand or two, depending on how I feel when Im done.

Thanks for the GLs too by the way.

Good luck J Slice. Thanks for posting your story man, I can relate to you in many ways. I used to play poker for fun live with my friends, then I got really interested in online poker when I started playing FullTilt. I actually lost over a thousand dollars first because I didn't know what I was doing, so I started reading articles and books. I played with playmoney on FT and got my play money bankroll up to 12 million. It was at the high stakes play money tables that I learned to play good poker and met some really cool play money regulars. ha. Anyways, I had to take a few years away from online poker due to school and life, but now I'm back and working on building a bankroll on carbon from freerolls too. So I hope you are able to succeed, and that one day we can play each other at a real money table!

Played two more sessions last night for a total of ~600 hands. Ended up breaking completely even with going -$3.61 the first session and +$3.61 the next haha. Going to look through my database for a hand or two before I start another session today.

Thanks for the support. Sorry that you lost a few thousand, that is unfortunate. I think I have withdrawn several hundred from playing online, so I got lucky and didn't have to pay so much to learn how to really play. Good luck with your journey as well, thanks again for the support.
