I want to add a few good books to your list: 1) Phil Gordon's Little Green Book (and the Gold book) Also, Slansky's Theory of Poker. Get on an instructional site like DTB will help also.

if you've done well with stocks then I suspect that you'll eventually find your way in poker and you've already won at the freerolls.

If you think poker is really out to get you than you might want to talk to a dr about that.

poker is a game that at the lower levels should only played for entertainment purpose. I'm sure you all know that guy who seem like he's making a living from poker but what you need to do that is a bankroll to risk so with out some $$ to start it difficult to grind few 100$ into huge bank roll im not saying it's never will happen but when it doesn't. all you can do is work on saving a bank roll and start again. i suggest you pick cash or tournament and stick with one. I think new played may due better in a $1-2 game cause you can leave with some $$. or stick to low stake tournament and expect to re buy if your not the most skilled player. but always remember its a game that supposed to be fun and if ur not having fun the bad beat may take greater effect on you and you game so just try your best and have fun. and like last guy said freerolls are good place to start.

I'll check out some of those books. I'm reluctant to play cash games since i have not done well in those yet...need a little more online play first. But thanks for the replies and recommendations.
