so you lost to ak vs your qq in the first. Get used to that one because that happens to me 30 times a day where I have ak vs qq, jj, 1010 and sometimes even smaller pairs as well, although it is less often than the bigger pairs. In addition, I get ak run down by ax a lot online, way more than it should happen based on probability. Seems AJ beats AK almost half the time and A_8 runs down AQ. Maybe I am only seeing the bad beats that happen and not all of the outcomes where the dominating Ace holds up. Nope. I noticed this flaw at other online sites and even wrote them down for over 1000 hands Sure 1k is not a huge sample size but it was 60-40 rather than the 70-30 (plus minus about 2.5 points based on suits) that should have occurred.

I also had AA run down in the 1k 6/6 rebuy mtt at 1 p.m. today Had 14k in chips, was about at the same level as you were and had 2 players push all in on me, one with 9k in chips had qq and the other had 5k in chips called all in after he had initially raised UTG. He had k 10 offsuit. Flop contained a king and a 9, turn was a j, and the river was a 10. I never recovered after that. The player with the QQ ended up with over 22k in chips after the dust had settled. Not much you can do but take it in stride.

If you are a solid player and do not gamble unless you are extremely short stacked, you are going to run into both of these type of beats, It happens even more often in the rebuy tourneys. You just have to take it in stride. I had a good day despite some bad beats and last night was even better. I won the 1200 megastack last night, made the final table in the 3k mtt big ten, won several on demand tourneys yesterday and today including 3 20 buy in ones, and scored about average in the usual gambut of sngs I play on a daily basis.

Even better though was how I won. I had lost in a 10 buy in on demand tourney with kk vs aq offsuit in which the loose aggy opponent I know all to well 4 bet pushed into me. He spiked an ace on the river. That crippled me in the 10. But I took him out in the 20 on demand tourneys twice. The first one we ended up heads up and I just slammed him. I had a 2 to 1 chip count when we first got heads up. He was pushing all in pretty frequently at first until he chipped up to where he was only down about 3 to 2 in the chip count. He then started playing post flop poker which I do very well at.

After having beaten him down to about 4.5 k in chips and blinds were at the 200-400 level he limped on the button with qq and I checked preflop with 22. Flop was 982 I bet 1/3rd pot and he called. Turn was an 8 I bet 1/3rd pot and he pushed all in. My fh held up. In the second one I sucked out on him with an A-4 vs AQ all in pre. At the time we were down to 5 handed and the stack to blind ratio was atrocious. We were all even chipped. It was an all in or fold fest with no one having more than 10 bbs. I took him out first, then I took out a second tighter player with a a9ss vs his 44 when the board double paired 6's and 5's on the river. I took the 3rd guy out (also a loose aggy opponent) with AQ vs A-8 when I spiked a queen on the flop. and took the last guy out 3 hands later with A9ss vs 10-8 off after he pushed into me for like the 40th time in this tournament (He is an all in or fold specialist). It took several hours to get to 5 handed but it only took me like 5 minutes to finish the last 3. I also happened to take out the last 4 opponents in the first 20 buy in one as well (although it had taken a lot longer as the stack to blind ratio was not as small. Nice ending to a long day.

Yeah, that second one is crazy - the all-in preflop with 66 is just stupid. even the call with QQ is a little crazy with two all ins in front of it. then to get beat by the bottom-end str8. Ugly

People post their bad beats all the time...

Here's one where I placed a terrible beat on someone down at an independent poker "club". I had about $300, blinds 1-2, with the opponent having about the same, maybe more. He limped, as does a few more. I raise on the button with 10s 8s to $17. UTG re raised to to $40. At this point I know he has a strong hand, AA, KK, or QQ. He's bet pretty strong and has never folded a strong hand liek this even on a bad board. I'm only one to call. Flop comes 7s, 9s, 2d. He bets $75. I push, trying to maximize my odds before the turn where I'm forced to fold. Rivered the straight. Was a good hand :-)

just today on bovada zoom poker or whatever its called...i'm playing 25 nl.

I play pretty speculatively and ended up calling a raise reraise reraise ultimately of 7.50 preflop with only AQ hearts.

Flop comes KJ10 rainbow. I have a straight now and the nuts at this point! I am in position behind 3 players.

Everyone goes all in basically now.

I have the nut straight. Player one had KK. Player two had J10 suited. Player 3 has 99.

Turn and River are both 9's

Player 3 takes down like a 200 dollar pot at 25nl!!!!! with the dumbest move of all time. He goes all in before he even makes a set. me and him both have like 300bb's and he decides to shove on me on the flop and then hits runner runner quads.

so sick to my stomach after this, i need to report this or something. i think the odds of this exact hand occuring are less than hitting the lotto.
