In most situations if there is a raise in front of me I will just flat with AK. This is for 2 reasons. For one it is kind of like a trap if you hit the flop, and secondly if you miss the flop and you just flatted preflop you wont feel committed and can fold easily.

Of course if you are short stacked, say 10-15 BB's, I would 3 bet shove any raise in front of me. It is some what of a steal hand but if you are called you are ahead of alot of non pair hands and in a race with many hands as well. All you can do is hope you're not shoving into AA or KK.

If I am the one to open with AK I will make it 3 BB's, and make a regular post flop continuation bet whether I hit or miss the flop. If they call you can continue the hand from there as you would like.

tricky hand, AK is a damn set up. just go all-in with it and pray like hell you dont get snapped off by pocket 2's

I saw once a guy (a very good dutch guy) he plays the NL100, NL50 and is very succesful.
I saw his pokertracker stats: profit:
AA: $47000
AK: -$3000

Man it was a shock to see that.
I do a small raise, and slow play when hit.
