I went to my local casino today and played 10/20 Full Kill Split hi/lo (30 minutes of omaha hi/lo, 30 minutes of stud hi/lo). In my 800 years of playing poker, this was by far the craziest hand ive played - if you play stud hi/lo, i welcome your comments; full kill was activated for this hand (so it played 20/40). Please bear with this.
I got dealt rolled up 2s (2 of diamonds showing), i opened standard (no reason to raise), i get 3 other players (the one with the kill and 2 other jabronis). Killgore has a 9 showing, player 1 has a K, player 2 has a Q
4th street brings a 3 of diamonds, nothing notable for anyone else. Someone bets, call call call. (176 in the pot including the antes)
Here's where it starts getting interesting. I hit a 4 of diamonds on 5th street (so i am showing a monster). player 1 pairs his king, player 2 pairs his queen, the other guy has 10 9 8 showing. I lead out, it is FOUR BET by the time it gets back to me...so now it's 120 to go.
So bear in mind its not just 120, but almost assuredly 320 more to show it down
Well I can't lay this down yet, so i call (816 in the pot)...6th street i pick up the 7 of diamonds (so i am showing 4 diamonds and 4 low cards on the board). Players 1 and 2 hit low cards. The kill guy gives it up, players 1 and 2 raise and re-raise respectively.
So now what - i am showing a low and a flush, and these guys clearly aren't afraid of the flush. So not only is there no way my trips are destroyed, but im probably destroyed unless i hit a low card.
Since neither opponent is showing anything that can be a low, I cap it, hoping for a low card that doesnt match what i have to take 50% of this beast (now there is 1296 in the pot).
7th street - the bad news, i didn't hit a unique low card. The good news, I hit quads. 480 more dollars later (for a 1700+ pot), I turn over quads - out drawing Kings full of Tens, and Aces full of Queens (player 2 had all 3 aces as his down cards).
This, by far, is the craziest hand ive ever played. Would love to know if you would have done anything differently along the way, or what your reads are on the opponents as it played out.

I think you definitely played the hand correctly, you were fully committed to the pot at that point even if it was to take half back with a low. The fact that you didn't make your low turned out to be lucky as you scooped apparently, but the odds of your hitting it were there. My first hand ever on Party Poker so many many years ago I had quads crushed by a steel wheel straight flush caught on the river. I immediately thought - this is fixed. Well - I'm still not sure if online poker is rigged, I mean - I'm not a computer engineer - but it's a great example you show of how this happens in real cards too.

I would've spent that win on the hospital bill after the heart attack I would've had.
