Hi everyone
What do you guys think of the hand below? It was late in the tourney (11 players left) and I felt like calling because I was holding 10th place atm and if I had double-up, I would be in a comforatble 4th place. Because I think it is important that once in a while you should finish in the top3 otherwise you are only making small money.
Villian was playing 44/38/1.3 and 3bet was 7. Only 51 hands though.
Would you have made the same decision to call? why or why not?

Well you answered your own question then didnt ya? You sound like a win it or go home player, likes theres something wrong with a FT cash? Dont ya think there is a reason why he is chip leader? Maybe poker isnt for you then if only top 3 count LMFAO Cant build a roll by having a mentality of win or go out trying and you cant win it with 11 people left, you can only win it when there are 2 left LOL
"in order to win it ,you must first be in it"
Chances are finishing in the top 3 isnt going to happen very often. just check out the top players and see they rarely finish in top 3 so id throw that thought process away right now and start thinking of the bigger picture. But id rather cash 10 times and not win then cash once and it be a win. I mean sure id like to win but playing for the win when there arent just 2 left is a losing strategy.. I would have just called and seen the flop against chip leader.then you can fold if ya dont hit and live to play another pot..Cant win it if you aint in it.....Failing to Prepare is Preparing to fail : John Wooden

You played ir right, here you have to push clearly. You have 12bb in a 6-max table. You don't have time to wait for AA so I think your play was correct. If you had a bigger stack the maybe I would have folded to wait for final table, but that really depends on the payouts

what could small blind have - most likely a pair as you have already taken some of the AK possibilities away and so your look is at a disadvantage even at this stage. And with co betting then most probably he had A or K - what are your odds ten.
Know when to fold them

The only mistake I see is the 75500 bet, which should have been a shove. The way you played it made you lose any Fold Equity to your shove. BUT, once that was done...
Lets take his stats, and put them into a realistic way : 44/38/1.3 which means he plays top 44% of hands, which is rediculous, so lets take that down to 30% to make it more realistic, 30% = 55+,A2s+,K5s+,Q7s+J8s+,T8s+,98s,A7o+,A5o,K9o+,Q9o+ ,T9o
Now, lets assume his 3bet range would actually be 7% = 88+,ATs+,KTs+,AQo+
You hold : AKo = TOP 3.5% of starting hands.
So at this point, your AKo has 52.77% Equity vs 7% of hands ( 47.23% ) Essentially, a coinflip.
Now : After your 75500 bet, the 28000 raise from CO, the 21000 in Blinds, and the 10500 in antes, and the 710372 bet from Villain, we now have an effective pot of : 689394
So you need to invest ( rounded up ) the 240000 you have left, to possible win 690000 that will be in pot if you call. So basically 240000/690000 = 35%, hence, you need about 35% equity in order for that call to be profitable. You have 52% equity, so, CALL ALL DAY.I Buy and Sell Pokerstars $ PM me for Details.

Yes, ur move with AK is right. SB could be bullying, and AK is super premium 6 handed.
Also, i see u ask alot of MTT questions with math on this forum. PO IS NOT, i repeat IS NOT the place to get advice from decent - good players. Ask these questions on 2+2.
Very few PO players know what it takes to win a tourneyRANGER (B2B HU LOYALTY GAME CHAMP! DO YOU REMEMBER THOSE NOOB? NO, NO YOU DON'T!)
