Why use a HUD (Heads Up Display)?
A. Learn card odds
B. Profile others
C. Make better decisions
*Note: I just installed HM2 I'll have HM2 tips later
Firstly, you should know your card odds by now. Most of the time I just have my HUD set to show stats and mini-view the main window. You can however learn card odds quickly and in-play by having your main window open and viewing your win odds and outs. Merge has a free download for their HUD and it's less annoying than you think. Aside from the point though, you can quickly learn card odds. Right now. Without the HUD. They're very easy and take little to no practice to apply.
Profiling others is a huge advantage you have when you have your HUD open, obviously. After 50 hands the Carbon HUD automatically profiles players for you. There's categories like Fish, Rock, LAG, TAG (shark), and many more. This is the simplest way to read your HUD, but trust me it gets even better. As you play, remember to use the "quick tags" to tag people who are labeled (if you don't know how to read the stats and decipher who you're playing against).
Decision Making and the HUD go hand in hand. I'd really love to go into detail about this, but I'll stop here for now. Comments and feedback greatly appreciated.
Sorry about the dryness of the material, hopefully you're not crying yourself to sorrow by this point.
More later.

Okay now I want to discuss range, and how it affected this particular hand.
Me(UTG) $1645 - VP:39 PFR:22 AF:2.9 W:49|68 STL:39|44 3B:23|0 CB:83|50 N:11900 Hands:114
halfwaythere(CO) $2030 - VP:52 PFR:8 AF:3.5 W:25|33 STL:33| 3B:0|67 CB:0|100 N:590 Hands:25
Deadmoney007(BTN) $2380 - VP:72 PFR:24 AF:1.4 W:63|40 STL:0|0 3B:50| CB:33|0 N:920 Hands:25
Pre Flop: Me(UTG) with [Td,Ts]
(MP Folds), Me(UTG) raises 525, (UTG2) folds, (CO) calls 525, (BTN) raises 2380, (SB) folds, (BB) folds, Me(UTG) calls 1120, (CO) calls 1505
Flop: (3c,3s,Qh)
Turn: (Qs)
River: (6s)
Final:
Me(UTG) shows [Td,Ts]
halfwaythere(CO) shows [7h,9h]
Deadmoney007(BTN) shows [Qd,Ad]
This is a lot easier to explain with a software like equilab, but on this particular hand, I assume at least a break even call vs. a wide range of 24-72. So we plug 24-72 into equilab we get:
55-22, K5s-K2s, Q7s-Q2s, J7s-J2s, T7s-T2s, 92s+, 84s+, 73s+, 63s+, 53s+, 43s, A7o-A2o, K8o-K2o, Q9o-Q2o, J9o-J5o, T6o+, 96o+, 86o+, 76o, 65o
Which outputs 75% equity on a re-raise call.Last edited by F4s7R; 02-26-2013 at 11:47 PM.

Just a hu - you shouldn't make decisions on vil that are stats based when you only have 25 hands on them. You seem to kno what you're doing tho. GL man.
