Hi, I'm going to be holding a weekly poker game every Friday night and to do so, I'm gonna post it in the our local 'Bargain Hunter' and on 'Kijiji.'
Forwarded: I just got a loft apartment over a business (TD Bank was there b4 but I think it's just an insurance comp. now) and it's really spacious; I'm prob gonna buy a ping pong and pool table.
If I hold weekly poker matches is it okay to use my pool table or should I buy another felt?

Believe it or not, the address is 402 Frood Road!!!
I get the whole top floor:
Do you guys think I could charge a buy-in fee if I provide free drinks and snacks?
I'm considerate to: $20.00+$2.00 (CAD) buy-in fee for a MTT tourney; Ring game: $20.00---$50.00 deposit w/ $2.00---$5.00 buy-in fee: $0.25---$0.50 (CAD) blinds.
What do you guys think?
I'll get some pics of the interior when I move in...Last edited by eqgh5uea; 10-19-2012 at 04:22 PM.

I'm not sure how comforable seating at the pool table would be. if it is comfortable i say go for it.

This sounds like so much fun, I've always wanted to try a home game like this.

For the cost of a pool table, can't you get a real poker table?

Here around Boise there are a lot of well run home poker rooms....cops are aware of 'em ,but don't hassle them unless trouble breaks out. Most rooms that stay around and make it don't charge any fee for their tourneys, but STRONGLY suggest tipping out the dealers. They make their bread and butter from standard rake on ring tables. Most always havee a fridge stocked with sodas, occasional cheap beer and allow you to BYOB. To get themselves up and running took quite a bit of investment for the good ones, and they have very professional dealers with a casino background. The owners pretty much all started by dealing their own tables and becoming known for a reliable, safe and not fixed house...believe me...live houses with sit in house players get spotted and talked about quickly. I wish you luck and hope it works well for you, and if there's any other info about any of these rooms that I can help you with, just let me know and I'll try and get it for you. Good Luck!!!
