I'm trying to find out why many of the remaining US legal sites do not accept players from 13 states including Kentucky. Unfortunately I will be moving to Kentucky in a few weeks and I discovered that many sites including Carbon do not accept KY players. Carbon is one of my fav sites and I will be unable to play once I move and update my account, or I can keep playing there any risk losing my BR and possibly my freedom (how is it that the "land of the free" is the only place where you CAN NOT play poker for real $ ?)
I'm hoping someone reading this could clairify why this is, I've researched the state laws regarding the new online gambling law and found nothing helpful. Apparently it is not illegal on the state level but the poker sites chose to exclude players from "Commonwealth" states to avoid future legal problems since commonwealth states have a recorded history of being very conservative and anti-gambling, wish I had know this before paying a deposit and 3 months rent on my new home in KY. The sites even offer KY as an option in there registration form but if you select it and submit the form you will get a message saying "sorry but at this time we are not accepting players from your state"
Also "comonwealth" states have been know to try court cases they legally have no juristiction or right to do so in. I'm feeling very uncertain about my future now and already regreting a move I haven't even made yet. We all need to contact our local reps and voice our opinions and concerns, and hopefully open the eyes of these ney sayers!
Guess I will be stuck playing with retards and bots on Bet online and Sportsbetting since those are 2 of the very limited sites offering play to KY players.
I know this is a rambling post but if you read this and have any information on this matter please reply or send me a private message. Thank you
UPDATEThere are two real money sites that are legal in Kentucky. Betonline and Brovada. This does not mean they are legal in Washington or any of the other 11 states.

That's really bad news for you. I thought all states allowed carbon poker online.

Yep, Washington is one of the 13 states. What I dont understand is why some sites allow Ky players and some dont. It makes me a little nervous about playing once I'm moved. They are just hurting themselves in the long run. I will probly move once my new lease is up since I will be 15 min from both OH and IN Ohio is building a casino in Cincinnati and Indiana has Belltera and Hollywood Casinos in Lawrenceburg and their both 20 min from where I'll be living for the next year. I was just trying to be closer to work, didnt know it would be affecting my person life/freedoms so much, I spend most of my free time gambling online.

Ouch, what a sucky position to be in. Hopefully legalization is soon since poker is now making some positive headlines.
