I can't help but notice the signs of another MERGE site that seems to be in trouble. Hero Poker, at which I have been a player for well over a year, seems to be on the verge of not making it. At one time, Hero and Felt Stars had the two largest player groups on MERGE, with the exception of the original combined group of PDC/Carbon/Aced. However, in the past two months Felt Stars has gone belly up and I think Hero is about to do the same. Hero has not renewed any Visa depositing processors, and now their very easy to qualify for daily lottery type freerolls can't even get enough players to get started. They have had a daily lottery freeroll for several months that only requires a Hero player to acquire 60 VIP each day to qualify for. It has a prize pool of $100.00 and only two months ago there were 40-50 players who qualified every night. It paid out to 12 places and was an easy way to make some extra cash every day. It requires 20 people minimum and yet it hasn't been able to run for the last 3 nights due to lack of qualifying players. Tonight, there are only 4 players qualified, which is a HUGE drop off in such a short time. Imagine if PO freerolls suddenly only had 6-10 people sign up for each tournament. PO would cease to exist. It's very clear that Hero Poker has lost a significant number of it's base player group. MERGE has been in BIG trouble overall for the past 4 months and I'll bet that Hero Poker will be gone by end of year. The US feds win again. What a shame.
