The joker can only be used as an ace or to complete a straight, flush, or straight flush, so in your situations it was just a dead card.

There is a problem with the software and it does not always assign the correct value to the joker. I had a hand with a Joker and a King lose to 2 Jacks and another with two 8s and a joker lose to 2 pair. I have complained to Carbon but have heard nothing back.

Thanks for the advice. Never tried that game before.
