they found the loop hole where the sports site is based in a different location than poker. . . so different set of rules. Playing poker through the sport site allows you to play with balance funded by American credit cards which were outlawed in the states.

doubt itsa loophole since online gambling of any sort is illegal in the states, esp sports gambling as it would be in direct violation on the wire act that states u cant use a phone line(or internet nowadays) to place wagers. thats what they stuck FTP n PS with. on top of the the fraud n laundering n the rest, if i remember correctly n y its such a bitch to get poker outta the gambling category. theyre just new to the industry n probly have it listed as some online store purchase like all the other sites used to do. i doubt itll be too long before its found out n credit cards r banned there.
someone thats deposited, check ur history n let us know what the charge is showing up as if u dont mind.

Online gambling is NOT illegal in the US. What that law says it that it is illegal for financial institutions (banks) to process funding to to poker gambling sites. A technicality maybe, but there is a difference. The only state in which it is an actual felony to play poker online is Washington.

Online gambling is illegal as all hell in the states, if it were legal do u not think that all these casinos in Nevada wouldnt be popping up w/sites to make more money than they already r? Its not illegal to play online poker in the states, just for banks to process checks from gambling sites n playing poker for money is still considered a game of chance(gambling) unfortunately.
N more than likely the reason they made it illegal to process the checks from these sites is because w/gambling being illegal the sites were circumventing the legal system by disguising ur deposits like they were online purchases from an overseas service or store usually. Then to get ur money to u when u withdrew theyd send ur bank wire thru 17 different banks(hence the wire fraud n money laundering charges) so that it couldnt be known that it was coming from an online gambling site. Pretty much the same thing any large scale criminal does w/illegal monies if theyre making enough n dont wanna draw attn to themselves. Buy a business n say it does a shitload better than it actually is doing by putting the illegally gained funds thru the washer by claiming it as income thru ur "business".Last edited by JoeSchmo; 11-03-2012 at 04:04 AM.
