lemme start with a mods do not move this thread. i realize its in the wrong section but since the change certain threads(offtopic) are not viewed by the community in chat. this needs to be changed.

on to the point. last week i did a few things from here, and also on another site. downloads. i do not have sandboxie. so i took the risks and downloaded the things i downloaded anyways. low and behold my computer was overrun with ads. ads popping up everywhere. anytime i clicked anything i had to close 1-5 different ads. anyone who has experienced this knows its very annoying. makes you wanna close your computer and do other things.

after a week of dealing with this issue i contacted Rivdee and asked if he knew anything about computers. his response was depends on my issue. so, i explained what was going on. he gave me a few links, the 3rd being a free antivirue(malware) program. so i opened all 3 and ran the scan. BANG BANG. 130+ items detected on my computer. i quarantined all the items and restarted my computer. since then i have seen 0 ads pop up.

also, we ran the same programs on my girlfriends laptop and all her issues were resolved. she says "thank you" also rivdee.

in closing again i say thank you sir for the help. if it wasnt for you id be contemplating smashing my laptop daily until i finally did it. good luck with poker today all and feel free to thank rivdee for anything he has helped you all with

You can also check with your ISP, most offer a very comprehensive internet security product. I use F-secure, and have not had any issues in the 9+ years it's been installed.
