it says payment was instant. now shows its being held. also caused another member here to go negative with me because i sent them paypal a little later that day. i have disputed it though

Make sure you dispute it so they can check his ip and everything and see he actually sent it. If it was a gift thats a plus because if he sent it as goods you would have to provide a tracking number for the shipped goods.

I had someone reverse a PP charge on me for Carbon funds, and I was able to win the dispute. Definitely dispute it -- you're probably not the only one he's reversing charges on, which will be pretty obvious to PP.
