About LinkBacksHow long should it take for an avatar picture to be approved, as I assume that is why mine does not show up yet after 3 days?

where are you talking about? If you are talking about this site it is instant, no approval needed.

I must be doing something wrong. My picture shows up on my account page, but not under my name next to posts in the sidebar.

make sure u uploading the AVATAR picture and not the PROFILE picture, also it will not accept gif images and im not really sure about PNG format images
PS.: to be able to upload ur AVATAR picture u have first to go to "Settings" and then "Edit avatar" ......
