i would practice in play money tourneys to get the hang of full table play/ short handed. and pay attention to your opponents and their betting patterns, its one of the keys for online poker.

Tons of strategy guides and books out there to start with. MTT are VERY EASY to be profitable in. If you understand certain spots and able to get away from hands that 85% of the people in that tournament cant will make you a winning player. Now there are some certain spots later in MTT and around bubble play that you just cant get away from. Your going to have to win a few flips or 60/40's ect along the way.

the best book on turnoment is harington,there is a link here that gives top 30 books on poker(new books) thats help u play poker but if u want MTT the best is harington books that there is here.the link i am going to send is a torrent link,good luck
