they don't hate it - i've heard stories of some notable politicians getting together and having games. Its really about taxes and the fact that they don't want to be bothered with creating a big 26,000 page tax code that works for everyone while dealing with all the other shit on the table right now

politicians like to think they know whats best for everyone (especially democraps) so in there eye's gambling is a bad thing that is a jumping off to other things like crime and drugs...they also think its such a minor issue that they don't have to deal with it at all..if ppl started contacting there local politicans and letting them know how you feel about it I think they would have to start taking it more serious.just my opinion

Many times you will find that it is what "they" call the right wing side. There are solid religious beliefs which I do understand. As we all know poker/gambling has destroyed the lives of those who have the inability to control there addictive nature. It is the old, "Stick up for those that cannot stick up for themselves" Also one of there arguments is that its such an easy carrier unit to corrupt the younger generation, as it is so easy for children to access many things which they should not!
I do understand where they are coming from but on the other side of the coin, the side which I am on, I think it can be done in such a way with proper regulations and safety nets in place. It can, and eventually will, be done!
If there is one thing we learn and try to hone in these great games of skill is, PATIENCE..... So I shall wait, as usual......

There's also opposition from the Indian nations and live casino owners.
