Taxing poker will be tough. What if u lose like $2k over the space of a few months and then at the end win a tourney for 2k. So your going to pay tax on this $2k even though you arent any better off. What if you only win $1K so your paying tax on this $1k even though your still in the red $1k. You should only have to pay tax on your profits. And there is no easy way to keep track of that that cannot be easily manipulated

Eh, I dunno. I read too many hopeful articles hoping to find some insights into the matter. Only thing that will excite me is a time table and which sites are going to be reintroduced in our country. Otherwise, I'll just assume it'll take years for this to happen.

Lots of wishful thinking in this thread...
For a bill to become a law, lots of things need to fall in place. This bill is "stuck in committee" ... I think the article was talking about this bill.... H.R. 1174: Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act (GovTrack.us)
For those that have no idea what stuck in committee means, this might help .... some classic Schoolhouse Rock
YouTube - ‪Schoolhouse Rock- How a Bill Becomes a Law‬‏
--- I literally LOL'd at this youtube comment
"Why did they cut this vid?!?
They skipped the part about the Lobbyists, the political opportunists and the under-the-table exchange of money... That's the best part!!"

I'm just a bill, yes I'm only a bill, and I got as far as Capitol Hill. Well, now I'm stuck in committee and I'll sit here and wait while a few key Congressmen discuss and debate whether they should let me be a law. How I hope and pray that they will, but today I am still just a bill.
Next week, Conjunction Junction, what's your function?
