the reason you can still play on merge is its only a 10 mill company. fulltilt, pokerstars, ub+absolute. these are all 1 billion dollor companys. And the poker in usa will be interstate online poker. south point online poker will launch in next few weeks. then there will be alot more to open. i would say 25 states are working on same interstate deal

The best way to be proactive with your concerns is to join the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) and the follow them at least weekly. Also, join poker sites like 2 plus 2 as they keep up to date daily with whatever poker news their might be. Nothing will happen, IMAO, to change in the US for a least another year as there are bigger issues for Congress to deal with right now. Maybe some time in 2014.

Never going to happen. no regulation. Thats the whole reason it wont pass. turning it into a interstate program = regulation+taxes. One of the problems is people who play for a living cant get taxed. seeing as the tax would be a fed tax And its still illegal on a fed level. turning it into interstate program would mean the state would get the tax. It's the same as the medical maihuanna program. state voters say yes but feds will never change their stance. Itnterstate poker would suck. But less power to feds and more power to states is good.

may as well look at online poker as funzy practice if you live in the USA... once you run up a positive balance account with the ones that let you play, then try to cash out, hah ! hah ! see what happens...

I'm sorry but I cant recall them off the top of my head and I looked around for the document I got the info from but again, no luck. I do know that Kentucky is one of them and being a resident of that state, I am only offered registration to 2 online poker rooms. I'm not 100% but I believe Washington maybe one of the 13 also...?

Thank you. We Americans take alot of crap for things we have no tangible power over, i.e our gov. Look at the last three elections! All have had some issue involving possible fraud. They really are out of our control... and I know many Americans who do not agree with our policys or the way we deal with our own citizens and other people around the world. I wish there was an easy answer but sadly I feel the only thing that could get us back on track would be a total collapse of all global financial centers. Then and only then will the healing and rebuilding being. USA is a total house of cards waiting to be blown away with the wind, its just sad to have young children and be stuck here trying to survive the storm...
