Here's the interview with Hachem, in case anyone is interested:
    https://www.bluff.com/news/joe-hache...-legacy-51589/

Basically, he's an idealist - he's one of those people who think that everyone should play poker only for the love of the game, not for the money. I get what he's saying, but the reality is that, like in every area of life, poker players are a spectrum, not just either players or money-grubbers. Because his perspective indicates to him that many young players are not as idealistic as he is, he sees that the game (as he sees the game) is dying.
I'm not slurring my words. I'm talking in cursive. I believe the ladies find it to be quite elegant.

I like his approach, but it seems that he wears blinkers if he can't see that there are other ways to approach the game.

i don't think he came across idealistic. i thought he was pretty level-headed about it. he wants poker players to hone their other skills to keep the game good and the recreational players coming back. when i go to the casino and play the 1/2 nl games, the regular players are the most boring anti-social players ever. the actually make poker not fun to play and that's what my friends say. recreational players play for fun but pros and wannabe pros drive them away with their personalities.

joe is not the only one saying that poker is dying. i believe that this due to the falling off of the top prize in the WSOP. when moneymaker won in 2003(2.5 M), there was a massive surge in the amount of people playing both brick & mortar and online. i believe this peaked in 2006 with jamie gold(12 M). since then the top prize has fallen back to and is staying steady at over 8 million. so probably some have sought other forms of entertainment. but, the ones who have moved on, were, mostly the "travel channel experts", and that is okay. me, i have been playing since January 1957. i was 8 years old and the son of one of my fathers friends who was 12, taught me the rank of hands. my poker playing will die when i do.
