Ok, I just thought I would start one thread where I could post all my random poker thoughts in one place. I can celebrate wins, go off on tangents, whatever I feel like bitching about for the day.

So here's what I'm doing with poker....

A couple months ago I opened new accounts on Carbon, Bovada, Lock, and SWC. I'm trying to build something from nothing. I've established the type of BRM management I want to follow and I will not take shots, I will only play within my BR. I'm following a simple strategy of no buy-in can be more than 5% of my BR. I plan on withdrawing 10% of all my wins. Mostly through FRs I have built up each site to about $20.

This is where I turned into a degen. I was playing all the time. I was playing when I woke up, when I got home from work, and even started playing at work. Playing at work is a bad idea because I can get interrupted and have to walk away from tournaments. The worst part is that I was just getting burnt out and not playing my best. I realized I would get bored and just throw tournaments away. So I decided to take a break for a few days. I'd rather not throw away the BR I'd been so diligently grinding out. So for most of June I won't play much, and then in a few weeks I'll get back to being a degen!! In the meantime, I still plan on reading poker books and learning more about the game. I just have to learn when to say "no" to that next tournament when I know I'm getting bored.

it is addicting on the computer and many people just sit all day and play not good - better to go to a casino and walk around and get some exercise

Time for me to actually TRY to stop sucking. My game has been horrible the last couple weeks, and I've cut way back until I feel like I can focus properly. Right now I'm pretty much sticking to the freerolls so I don't lose my hard earned BR. One more chance in this last Carbon FR tonight... If only I could stop playing Candy Crush long enough to watch a poker table!!

it sounds like your are trying to do the jesus fergusen (i spelled that wrong) nothing to $10,000 challenge. he has the same brm as you stated.

Pretty much, except with his challenge I think you ignore the BR requirements until you earn something like 50-100. The thing I like about it is that there are no excuses, I have to be profitable or improve to make any money.

i dont understand how people play so dumb at the freerolls!! i understand they are freerolls but isnt point to win!! how to do u call 180 raise with crap? when the blinds are 20/40?? obv if someone is raising like that they have a monster hand!! how do u call with 57 or A2, just makes no sense to me!!
