    psychiatric service dog

Well, I have been seriously thinking about following my doctors advice and get a psychiatric service dog. Maybe he will keep me happy and upbeat and calm me when i am in my "moments". Also walking the dog and playing fetch or what not would get me a little more active, although now sure how active I can get. I have bad back and sciatica and leg pain and i get out of breath very easy and can barely walk 200 feet, however I have done nothing but sit on my laptop all day and watch tv and eat and sleep for the past 3 1/2 years and only leave the house twice a month and NEVER get any kind of excerise(which my doctor has been trying to get me to walk a little and get up and move around) was never at all active before then either though but leave te house a couple more times a month to go to bingo. Also the dog might be able to help our financial situation cause psychiatric service animals are considered service animals under the American's with Disabilities Act and a lot of people don't know that and it is illegal for any employee or business to question you about the service animal except to just ask if it is a service animal...so I am sure I could be able to get a lot of freebies from a lot of places...a woman here on the news a few months ago who wheeled her 2 psychiatric ferrets into Walmart in a baby stroller and was accosted my a Walmart employee made the local news and received a $1,000 gift card from Walmart as an apology...so if she could get that from Walmart, imagine what I could get from being a LONG time customer of Enterprise rental a car and the casino if I was accosted by employees.

I hope you choose not to get it. You mentioned in chat that you are considering it for all of the freebies you can get and use it to your advantage, those are the wrong reasons to get a pet, even service dogs need a loving home.

Talk about animal cruelty giving you a dog. Dogs need excerise, need to be taken on walks, need to be washed/groomed and need to be fed. You cant do any of this for youself so definately wont be able to do it for a dog. Service dog or not rspca will only see that u neglect it and would take action against you.
