sounds to me after reading this, no matter how you reason or talk to the girls mother, it won't matter. She has clearly made up her mind on things should go and as for the Father, it sounds like neither one are ever on the same page. One parent says yes the other parents says no.
Not trying to sound mean but at that age I know of only one couple who actually are still together. I say let the kids have their time and try and not have too much interaction with her parents. Good Luck
