Aliens have been here, helped us and left. Now that we are technologically advanced and aware enough to know they aren't "gods", they won't be back because we'd just try to fight them. We are far too ignorant of a species to allow friendly aliens here. The only ones that will visit us are ones that want to destroy us. Which will come soon enough.
