likely they read the book power poker...if you can call you may as well raise...it makes sense to some degree but it can lead to a big ol trap scenario if played out of context....it will cut the hands you play down normally but when taken out of context it can be a bad idea....lol....I will raise in tourney play with no raise in front if I have a calling hand...keeps em guessing i suppose and can disguise smaller hands and leave you options after the flop you may not have had with flat call...
