Well there are lots of freerolls on pokerstars, so if you wanna play there with no deposit, i would say it is the best choice.

plenty of sites out there that offer freerolls if your a non us player anyway, sky poker (uk only), 888.com are my 2 fave for new players then carbon (merge) pokerstars has greater traffic but they all seem to have fallen from the retard tree and so building a bankroll from nothing on there is neigh on impossible

i have been playing the fun steps. Do you guys think it is dangerous or unwise to deposit in a merge site right now? I would like to, but i'm afraid they might go broke, so i have been trying to build a bankroll from freerolls lately too.
