In poker we often think of the big hands we win as some of the best hands we have ever played. More often than not, it is the big hand that you lay down during a tournament that is the most important decision you made. Mine was in a live tourny at a final table, I had been playing with this person for about 3 hours. He opened the pot for 4x the bb under the gun +1 everyone folds and I call in the BB with 44. The flop comes A 4 7 rainbow and he checks the flop. I put out a bet of half the pot. He raises me. This was the first time I had seen this guy checkraise the whole time I was playing with him, and he didnt raise preflop often. I was 3rd in chip position and he was 2nd. I did not want to play a big pot and turned over my 44 and folded. This put the guy on tilt. he couldnt believe I was able to fold that hand in that spot. I ended up winning the tournament and he was the first to leave the final table.

Well there is many laydown but can't really fold that hand unless you play online poker.
Live poker it's different thinks I probably would continue call him all the way.PokerStars: ProBlackbird | Betsson: ProBlackbird | Party Poker: UnknownFlush

The guy never showed his hand. Why would he when I was right, and he would only build my confidence on my reads? He was very visably upset at the fact that I was able to fold. I was able to win the tournament, had I went crazy with that hand, I would have ended up in 3rd. Also why would you fold that hand online (possibly) and not in a live game? Live players are way better than online players. I like playing online, but when I play for $ its mostly live.

I dont know about you, but it is way easier for me to get reads playing live than online. Online you can only use 3 things to get reads. Time it takes to act, how often they play hands, and the size of the bets.

Best laydown I ever made was my college girlfriend for my now wife. Ya she was hot, but a huge tramp \ sloppy drunk.
Now she's in rehab
Oh wait, ur talking poker"And Shepherds we shall be. For thee, my Lord, for thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand. Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti."
