Do you think celebrity poker professionals are becoming less and less common because there are so many donk players getting into poker nowadays? Which makes it more difficult for one person to win multiple tournaments, compared to 30 years ago? What are your thoughts?

Do you mean celebrities that become poker players or poker players that become celebrities because of their poker play? I don't think "bad" poker play has anything to do with it. I think more US players are playing outside the US. And because of the resrticted use of poker sites now in the US, you don't see all those commercials for sites with all those stars all over the place.
Also a lot of the top players are still wining multiple tourneys. Phil Hellmuth is the biggest example.

too many donks are never a problem. but it is interesting how you coin poker professionals as being celebrities... because a lot of them do make more money off of media than from actual poker playing

Poker celebs are lucky SOBs. While other true professionals are grinding their lives off, they get millions by looking badass on TV.

donks are important because if everyone would play well you would not be able to collect coins and reach as high as tour
