For live poker, if you can pick up on other people's tells, evaluate yourself next time you are playing. If you notice someone throws there chips in a certain way when they have monster cards then try to see how consistent you are with what you are doing. Simple things like putting a chip on your whole cards can be give away if your not careful. For a long time I noticed I would do it about half of the time. When I did do it I tended to have a pretty decent hand and wanting action, and every time I thought I was going to win. If your sitting at the same table as someone long enough you can notice things like that.

I agree online tales are betting size and timing. You just have to learn these tales as you play.

If you are talking about online, looking at your hand history will give you the best idea. Other players usually look at how you play your big hands and how many hands you are playing - hand ranges. When you are bluffing too much or never bluffing is another easy tell.
