I have seen this a few times and it usually never ends pretty. If you are a half way decent player you may be able to fold by the turn if it looks like there could be a str8 or a flush out there. I have been in this situation 1x and I have come out on top KKK vs JJJ. Monday night in a live game I seen a little different situation but couldnt believe that I seen it 2x in the same night. Flopped full house vs flopped set. If you flop set vs set with a rainbow non connecting board most likely you are going to lose lots of money or chips if you are on the bottom end of it. You just have to know that it is bad luck ( cooler) and move on , you cant let it get the best of you.
