In the mornings I will be playing Limit with the olds folks drinking coffee as long as I haven't been up all night and I'm already drunk in which case I'll walk through the casinos trying to scope out any good tourneys for when I wake back up and/or check out the boardwalk, then take a nice shower, and enjoy the king size bed. In the evenings I will definitely have a drink at the NL tables to take the edge off, but just one. When I retire from playing for the evening I will then bring all of my cash (provided I have some) to the room and take a set amount down (probably $20 bucks unless I've done particularly well.) I'll more than likely sit at a nickel poker machine with high cocktail waitress traffic, smoke cigarettes, and drink until I retire. If I have done quite well I may take $60 down and put $40 in a slot machine with 20-25c spins (it never hurts to have some slot use showing on your card). If I were to do extremely well (over 2k profit) I may take $120 down and put a hundred on a table game. Either way, what I take down will be my money for the evening with my last 3 bucks going to the waitress who brings me a double neat to take up to the bathtub. And, I won't be playing poker or touching any more of my money (with the exception of if I get hungry) until I have slept.

Gambling (online and in casinos), drinking (online and in casinos) and tilting (that only happens to me online, I guess its something about being able to face a person and having to face people that keeps me calm playing live) have always taken away from my profits greatly.
I'm working on this and probably will for the rest of my life. I will always drink when I want to but I need to learn to limit my drinking or get up from the table. I like to gamble and probably always will but I need to limit my gambling. Set an amount to lose when I decide to gamble and stick to it. I should never go play blackjack online because I'm down at the poker tables, which I have done plenty of times and thrown away the rest of my roll. It's pathetic but it's true. I can also say, recognizing my "leaks" and making just a little progress has helped me quite a bit.
But, I don't want to be the type of person who has to "avoid" things. I want to be the type of person who is control of himself and his life. I do not mean that to be insulting at all. It is just how I feel. I respect your decision and right to your own reason. And If I judge (which I do all the time) it's because I'm an asshole.
