It's a good idea. Better to run bad at play money than money.

It makes sense as long as you really understand that your playing piss poor on purpose at the play money tables and understand that the table action there just doesn't count at improving your game. I will do something kinda similar. Hero has SNG freerolls round the clock, so I play like a donk in those when I really just want to play stupid and blow off steam. And if I get lucky, I could even win a few pennies!

Yes. I have done this as well. I agree that it is a great stress reliever. I don't think there is anything "wrong" about doing it as long as you consciously know you are gambling instead of playing solid poker and you don't carry that style play into your real money endeavors. GL at the tables.

In the beginning God said : "The four dimensional divergence of an antisymmetric second rank tensor equals zero", and at once there was light.

Bad idea. Reinforces bad habits. Either take a brake, or drop to lower stakes and practice your way out of it. I always revert to a patient, conservative style and force myself to use the clock while counting outs/odds.
