No limit is gonna have way more swings than any other poker game you can find and if you cant handle 'em well poker might just not be your game. I dont think it has to do with your chatting habbits?

I don't believe chat influences anything as far as if you hit cards or the rail. I think it is all coincidental. I have noticed though that usually the players that are the loudest in chat are poorer players. (not saying this is the case with the OP, I would not know, just an over all observation)
I do wish they had observer chat, especially set up like PS did where you have to have at least they buyin amount in your account to chat. That way it keeps the beggers off the rail.

I do wish that Carbon would offer observer chat though. Unlike walking and chewing gum, for whatever reason it seems that whenever I'm playing, I'll get to caught up in chatting and eventually lose. Stinks for me, I know!

observer chat would be nice, but some player would abuse it. just like they do the chat now.
