I disagree with this part of the statement. In my experience the players in Vegas at all but the highest levels are much worse on average. There are the occasionall occupational sharks, but most of the people are rubes who are just looking to gamble. I find that small town tourneys draw locals who really like to play poker and probably have in the past, but in Vegas alot of people are just doing what people do in Vegas, and that means alot of people at the tables who have no idea why they are losing money, and for the most part don't care, they expect to lose a certain amount in Vegas and someone has to accept it.

If I was in your shoes I think I would just say fuck it and hop a bus to vegas and have some fun. If I had nothing that's what I would do. In my shoes I would have to do the responsible thing and buy a car. Have fun.

Just remember to save enough for a bus ride home. Being that it is your first time, I would also suggest not drinking (at all, or at least not when your playing) Also cash games can be very lucrative, so I would try one out. Bill's has 50c / 1.00 if your looking for a cheaper game. and there is a little Irish themed casino further up the strip if you head north (same side of the road). I just cant remember the name right now. They have a 1-5 spread limit game. Basically there is only one $1 blind and the raise can be up to $5 per raise, with a max of 4 raises. Whatever you do, check around, there is plenty to offer, don't lose your head, and be careful. Good Luck!

O'Sheas is the casino you're thinking of, but they never have cash games when I'm there only tourneys. Bills never has any games going when I'm around. If you leave the strip, downtown the El Cortez has a 1-5 limit spread and there is a casino called Poker Palace that has a $20 rebuy every night. It's the equivalent of a live PO FR. The El Cortez also has cheap rooms.
