AK is not preflop gold. You would be surprised how often I fold these cards preflop. All depending on the preflop raisers and action in front of me.

AK equals the best starting DRAWING hand. You have to hit the board for your cards to hold any value unless your opponent does not hit the board either and you win with Ace high, which you know how unlikely this is. Too many put too much value and faith into the good starting drawing hands, I used to make the same mistake in the past until I broke the bad habit of doing this and looked to the board for help. Once you are able to see the board, then you know how valuable these hands are, until then you might as well have rags.

Ace King = $, 49% to win preflop, rare hole cards, a raise, and top two cards. Don't forget the basics of the game.

I agree AK is overrated and over played...dont mind having it but if doesnt hit gotta let it go....
