How do i sync my guitar hero guitar for PS3 without its default sensor?

i bought a guitar hero guitar from cash converters and the guy told my it had no sensor i've got heaps of them at home but when i tried it didn't work it a PS controller for guitar hero five and it's pissing me off if you could help that would be great
