The Amish mafia as a secretive subculture that operates within its own set of rules and values. To ensure the safety of innocent Amish members.
This isn't the first amish based show to hit the airways in the past year Breaking Amish was a recent TLC Show that raised questions of it being fake and scripted.
I watched Amish Mafia for 20 minutes while I enjoyed an Ice Cream Cone-The show sucked but the Ice Cream Cone was great.
Enough Said.

I grew up right outside of lancaster county, the guy who trained me to finish drywall grew up amish, until he left school. The show recruited amish and ex-amish to play parts in the show. He got a call and decided to do it, he played the bishop or something like that, don't think he got any air time that i've seen yet . He made 50 bucks for playing the part.

I thought the Amish were adverse to anything electronic. I could be wrong but wouldnt a tv show be bad for their beliefs?

Hey cut em' some slack. At least it's not just one of the older shows that is now remade in 3D. They are just simply outta crap to make a show about and the reality train is still a rollin on.
