Usually if someone is playing well and especially if a bad beat knocked them out I like to let them know they played a good game, regardless of the point of the game.

I always take it as friendly people bidding you adieu....It is not to be taken literally. Maybe if you are at Final Table or Heads Up it might be meant that way, but it is just a poker slang term for 'better luck next time'

i only say gg, when they make it pretty far in the game! always makes me laugh when someone tells me gg when i got in the first 10 players!! but it is nice and polite to say!!

I've usually viewed saying gg as politeness as well. I'll sometimes say it to everyone that gets eliminated at the final table if I'm there, but if I'm knocked out early and someone says that, I really don't view it as a bad thing.

My pt was.. we all been there.. I f we get rivered and we put up a gd fight.. gg dont mean crap.. and we dont even see it.. lookin for next table is the first option..
