i would of either shoved or folded pre flop depending on what the players in the blinds where like. definitely wouldn't of min raised. not much you could of done about been out kicked though. i tend to stay away from raggy aces unless i'm less than 15BB.

As played, the hand is fine up to the river. You have a large stack, putting pressure on the smaller stacks, you need to raise these hands preflop in position. The problem with the river is this, you don't beat anything other than a bluff. He calls your flop bet with either a spade flush draw or an A or 8. On that board, you lose to any 8 and most of his aces, and at the 25cent buy in level, the average player cant bluff a missed spade draw. He is betting half his remaining stack on the river meaning you are most certainly beat.

The other responses thus far arent taking into consideration stack sizes and position. You definitely are right to raise this hands preflop on the button. But you have to consider where you are on each street.

Pretty standard up until the river. I really like a check back by you, and it is not being results oriented. Villain knows you are going to keep repping the Ace if you are bluffing, plus you might value own yourself as well. Furthermore, an 8 is definitely part of his flop calling range. What type of value do you think you are getting by betting 3 streets? What worse hands are calling? I know it is the micros but still; on the river he has a hand that beats you 95% of the time when he checks it to you. You should have checked back the turn, and called a river bet. You still would have lost, but you would have lost less, and you catch some silly bluffs.
*** I see he lead into you otr. As played, I fold. If you check back the turn which would have done, I would call the river. ***Last edited by sickread23; 07-05-2013 at 09:50 AM.

Don't bet 1/5 pot otf. It accomplishes nothing other than opening yourself up to being bluffed all the time.

Since this is at jokerstars, the only way to play and win is to be super tight. That sight is too famous for idiot players from *cough* Russia *cough*...."Book" play just doesn't work online at all...
